Event Overview
The Amity Alumni Basketball Tournament brings together former players and community members for a competitive and fun weekend of basketball. This event is designed to reconnect alumni, celebrate Amity basketball, and create a lasting tradition for years to come.
Participants are invited to create their own teams, allowing friends, former teammates, and classmates
to compete together.

Location: Amity High School Gym
Format: 3-Day Tournament
Team Entry Fee: $50
In-Person Payments
Participants paying in person must complete and sign a waiver form prior to playing.
This ensures everyone is registered, safe, and ready for the court.

Tournament Format
Total Games: Each team plays 5 games total over the weekend:
Friday: 1 official game per team (1 official on the court)
Saturday & Sunday: 2 games per team per day (scheduled on main gym with 2 officials)
Pool Play: Friday and Saturday games are pool play to determine Sunday’s bracket standings.
Bracket Play: Sunday features the Championship Bracket and Consolation Bracket based on pool play results.
Game Rules
Game Length: Two halves of 22-minute running clock each
Clock Rules:
Running clock for most of the game
Stops only for timeouts, except in the last 2 minutes of the second half if the score difference is 10 points or less
Clock returns to running if the score difference exceeds 10 again
Team Fouls: Count only; resets at 11 minutes
Timeouts: 3 × 30-second timeouts per game
Halftime: 2 minutes
Pre-Game Warm-Up: 5 minutes
Overtime: 1 timeout for each team (no carryover)
1 OT = 1 minute
2 OT = sudden death
Game rules: current NFHS rules
The tournament committee reserves the right to adjust rules or schedule as needed.
Any tie-breakers in pool play will follow standard basketball tie-breaker rules (head-to-head, point differential, points allowed).

Each team selects one player to represent them.
Shooter takes 5 shots from 5 designated spots around the 3-point line.
70 seconds total to complete all shots.
Team members will rebound and pass the ball to their shooter.
Each made shot counts as 1 point.
The player with the most made shots wins the tournament.
Tiebreaker rounds will be held if needed.
Shooters must remain at their spot until all shots are taken before moving to next location.

Open to anyone who wants to participate.
Players perform 1–2 dunks per round.
Redo Rule: If a dunk is missed or incomplete, the player may attempt one redo per round.
Advancement: Top scorers advance to the next round.
Tiebreaker: If scores tie, players perform a tiebreaker dunk.
Participant Rounds
2–4 participants:
Each player dunks once or twice
Highest score wins
5–8 participants:
Round 1: everyone dunks once
Top 3–4 advance to the final round
9–12 participants:
Round 1: everyone dunks once
Top 6 advance to Round 2
Top 3 advance to the final round
13+ participants:
Round 1: everyone dunks once
Top 8 advance to Round 2
Top 4 advance to the final round
