The Amity Sports 3x3 Basketball Tournament is a competitive basketball event held at Amity HS Campus in Amity, Oregon. This inaugural 3x3 basketball tournament brings together youth and adult teams from across Oregon for a weekend of structured, fast-paced play.
Designed as the first year of a planned annual event, the tournament is built to establish a long-term basketball tradition in Amity, Oregon.

Tournament Divisions
The tournament includes divisions for a wide range of players:
Youth basketball divisions (8U–14U)*
High school basketball divisions*
Adult basketball divisions
40+ and coed divisions
Teams must register based on the age of the oldest player as of June 1, 2026.
*Youth Players (ages 8-18) will need to provide proof of age (birth certificate, passport, or state or driver's license) at registration check-in. Failure to do so will forfeit games until compliance is met.

Teams can register online for the Amity Sports 3x3 Basketball Tournament. Only one team representative is required to complete registration.
Each player must sign a Waiver Form. Form must be on file before any player can participate which will be confirmed at check-in.

Teams must have 3–5 players
All players must be listed on the official roster
Teams compete in age-appropriate divisions
Event staff may adjust divisions for competitive balance

All players must complete a waiver release form prior to participation. Players under 18 must have a parent or legal guardian complete the waiver.
Teams without completed waivers will not be eligible to compete in the tournament.

Teams must compete in the division of their oldest player as of June 1, 2026.

Yes - as long as you don't try to play on more than one team in any one division!
Playing on two teams in the same division is NOT allowed.

Divisions close once capacity is reached and may not reopen.

Each team is guaranteed at least four games: typically three pool-play games on Saturday and at least one game in Sunday’s single-elimination bracket

Teams may receive a full refund if they cancel before the registration deadline (July 3). After that date, no refunds will be issued for any reason.
This is because schedules, staff, officials, facilities, and event resources are finalized based on registered teams once the deadline passes.
Teams are responsible for their own roster and player issues after the deadline. Any team or player disqualified for conduct or sportsmanship violations will forfeit their entry fee with no refund.
Tournament Rules
General Policies
All games will be officiated by designated referees. Tournament officials have final authority on all rulings and interpretations not specifically covered in the Rules and Policies
Scorekeeping will be handled by one representative from each team. Both parties must maintain accurate scoring, with final verification and sign-off by a tournament official
Teams must have a minimum of three (3) and a maximum of five (5) registered players
Participants must be at least 8 years old as of June 1st. Youth players (ages 8–18) may be required to provide proof of age. Failure to verify eligibility will result in ineligibility until resolved
All players must complete registration and sign a waiver. Players under 18 must have a parent or guardian signature
Amity Sports reserves the right to verify eligibility at any time. False information may result in team disqualification
Play your games fairly. Excessive fouling and rough play will not be tolerated. We reserve the right to eject any player from the tournament for improper play
Sportsmanship & Conduct
Players, coaches, and spectators are expected to conduct themselves respectfully
Only the team captain (or designated adult for youth teams) may address officials
Unsportsmanlike behavior may result in technical fouls, ejection, or team disqualification. All decisions are final
Player Safety
Officials may stop play for injuries at any time
Players with open wounds must leave the court until properly treated
Medical clearance may be required for serious injuries before a player can return
Divisions
Amity Sports may combine or adjust divisions as needed. Affected teams will be given an opportunity to compete in an adjusted format
Tournament Play
Pre-Game
All players must check-in prior to each game
Teams must have at least two (2) players to begin. Fewer than two results in a forfeit
Warm-ups may be allowed if time permits. Dunking during warm-ups is prohibited and may result in penalties
Teams must be ready at their scheduled time. Late teams may forfeit
Each team must bring both light and dark shirts
Game Structure
Games are played to 35 points or 25 minutes
If time expires, the higher score wins
Ties go to sudden-death (first basket wins)
Starting possession is determined by coin flip
Each team receives:
One (1) 30-second timeout
One (1) additional timeout in overtime (no carryover timeouts)
Substitutions may be made during dead-ball situations
Scoring
Gameplay Rules
Play starts with a check ball at the top
After a made basket, possession switches
On rebounds or turnovers:
The ball must be cleared beyond the three-point arc before scoring
Failure to clear results in loss of possession
Held balls use alternating possession
All out-of-bounds and violations restart from the top
Scoring
Inside the arc = 2 points
Outside the arc (19’9”) = 3 points
Both feet must be behind the arc for a three-point attempt (not touching the line)
Game Outcome
A team wins by:
Reaching 35 points, or
Leading when time expires
No point differential is required
Youth Division (11U)
Hoop height: 8 feet
Free throw line: 10 feet
Defense must remain inside the arc until the first pass is completed
Fouls & Free Throws
Players foul out at six (6) personal fouls
Only the team captain may address officials
Shooting fouls:
Inside arc → 2 free throws
Outside arc → 3 free throw
Made basket + foul = basket counts + 1 free throw
Team fouls:
7–9 team fouls shoots one-and-one
10th foul+ shoots two free throws
After the final free throw (made or miss):
Ball is dead
Possession switches
Technical Fouls
Technical foul:
Two (2) free throws + possession
Two technical fouls = ejection
Intentional fouls may result in additional penalties or ejection
Flagrant fouls result in immediate ejection of the game
Game Control
Stalling or delay of game may be penalized
Officials may terminate a game if necessary
A terminated game may be recorded as a double forfeit
Judgment decisions of the Referee are final.
Equipment & Apparel
Not allowed:
Hard casts or braces
Exposed metal
Jewelry or watches
Soft braces are allowed if safe.
Knee braces must have all hard parts covered
Amity Sports may prohibit any unsafe equipment
Final Authority
Amity Sports reserves the right to interpret and enforce all rules to ensure fair play and safety
